The collection comprises design products made from leather recycling materials by NABORE. This forward-thinking product concept demonstrates diversity and scalability in design and manufacturing. Leather is one of humanity’s most durable natural materials and one of the oldest forms of upcycling. However, the leather industry generates approximately 1 billion square meters of offcuts annually. Previously discarded, NABORE now collects these valuable leather scraps and transforms them into recyclable materials using its unique Zero Waste technology.<\/p>

tbSTUDIO has been supporting the development of materials for furniture and interior design for years. „Outstanding design today means more than ever providing answers to the challenges of our time“ \u2013 under this motto, the German Design Award selects its winners. The expert jury has selected our company as a pioneer in the transformation of our industry. The German Sustainability Award will be presented this year to particularly exemplary companies in their sectors, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety (BMU) and the German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK).<\/p>

We will find out in September whether we are among the finalists. The award ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 23, 2023, in D\u00fcsseldorf.<\/p>

In this category, the German Sustainability Award states: „On a finite planet with limited renewable capacities, it is essential to shape the transition towards a functioning circular economy and to minimize the exploration of primary resources. The innovative design studio of Thomas Beck, tbSTUDIO from Berlin, has created trendsetting designs out of recycled NABORE materials. Within the „Young Innovative Companies“ support programme, tbSTUDIO has been selected to present its progressive work at IMM Cologne.\u00a0
It will also be a premiere for the new NABORE material LSP. The leather chipboard is thermoplastically deformable and can be used in a variety of ways as a mono-material component in furniture, objects as well as flooring and parquet.

L'association fran\u00e7aise de promotion VALESENS est laur\u00e9ate du PTCE et joue le r\u00f4le d'incubateur de projets d'\u00e9conomie circulaire pour le d\u00e9partement d'Indre-et-Loire. Un P\u00f4le Territorial de Coop\u00e9ration (abr\u00e9g\u00e9 PTCE) signifie que plusieurs acteurs d'un territoire s'associent pour cr\u00e9er ensemble des projets d'avenir. Aujourd'hui, la construction d'une nouvelle usine r\u00e9gionale pour la production de mat\u00e9riaux innovants \u00e0 partir de chutes de cuir avec la technologie NABORE est \u00e0 l'\u00e9tude.\nL'objectif de ce projet est de cr\u00e9er une usine de traitement industriel des d\u00e9chets de cuir pour produire de nouveaux mat\u00e9riaux de surface de haute qualit\u00e9. Sur une surface de 1,5 ha, 35 \u00e0 40 emplois seront cr\u00e9\u00e9s. Apr\u00e8s le succ\u00e8s du premier concours, en 2021, ayant pour th\u00e8me les chutes et d\u00e9chets du cuir, l\u2019association fran\u00e7aise VELESENS a organis\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e8nement cette ann\u00e9e en collaboration avec NABORE\u00ae, \u00e0 l\u2019occasion de la France Design Week.<\/p>

La devise du concours \u201eMon Beau D\u00e9chet\u201c est \u201einnovation d\u2019utilisation\u201c. De par sa technologie z\u00e9ro d\u00e9chet qui utilise la pr\u00e9cieuse ressource cuir dans son int\u00e9gralit\u00e9, NABORE\u00ae est le partenaire id\u00e9al. 9 mat\u00e9riaux haute performance constitu\u00e9s de d\u00e9chets de cuir, ainsi que des liants naturels, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mis \u00e0 la disposition des designers. De mou \u00e0 dur, dans des tons naturels, de gris anthracite \u00e0 beige naturel, les mat\u00e9riaux offrent tout un champ de cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9. Les designers ont utilis\u00e9 ce potentiel et d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 une grande diversit\u00e9 de techniques de traitement, des combinaisons innovantes, ainsi que des constructions et objets transformables.<\/p>
